Hello, I made this glossary because I want to become a Mathematics secondary teacher; it means, I want to teach mathematical skills to secondary students. With all of my research I saw words more complicated. I put them all together in a glossary, so you could that way, have easy access to new words.
algebra

The part of mathematics in which letters and other general symbols are used to represent numbers and quantities in formulae and equations.
Example: We will examine a few methods in the next three sections, drawing on our knowledge of algebra, analysis, and geometry.

A process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations, especially by a computer.
Example: Each step of the ALGORITHM may also contain some "sub-steps" or sub-sub-sub steps that need to be explained and refined.

A person who holds an undergraduate degree from a university or college (only in titles or set expressions).
Example: As I already mentioned in my first Portfolio, in Germany you have to decide before you begin your studies if you want to become a teacher afterward or, if you want to get a BACHELOR or master's degree.

A numerical or constant quantity placed before and multiplying the variable in an algebraic expression.

The least common denominator is the smallest number of all the common multiples of the denominators when 2 or more fractions are given.
Example: The least common denominator will be 150 and the fractions will be 20/150 and 6/150.

least common multiple

LCM stands for least common multiple. The least common multiple of two numbers is the smallest number that is a multiple of both of them.
Example: 6, 12, and 18 are common multiples of 2 and 3. The number 6 is the smallest. Therefore, 6 is the least common multiple of 2 and 3.

The median is the middle number in a sorted list of numbers and can be more descriptive of that data set than the average.
Example: We can also see from graph 1, that the data is slightly negatively skewed, with the MEDIAN, 65%, above the mean, indicating that there are more higher marks than low ones.

The value that occurs most frequently in a given set of data.
Example: Initially, the difference between the two groups seems worrying. This is further compounded by the median and MODE values of both sets of data.
